Role Summary/Purpose: The development teams' primary responsibilities are to provide technical expertise and experience in building deliverables to satisfy high expectations with respect to Quality, Performance, Reliability, Serviceability, Testability, and Customer Satisfaction. At Omnyx, developers, testers, technical writers, and product managers work hand-in-hand. Code reviews, unit testing, performance testing, and continuous integration are part of our iterative and incremental deliveries.
Essential Responsibilities: In this position the individual must be able to:


  • Lead the detailed design and development of various components of a clinical workflow & informatics software solution. Actively collaborate with marketing product managers, engineers, IT professionals, and clinical user populations to guide the product and its components to a successful release
  • Lead the investigation and resolution of software issues escalated through the customer support organization
  • Work in cross-functional project teams that include Development, Hardware, Firmware, Research, Marketing, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Control, Usability, and Customer Support
  • Take ownership of keys aspects of software development-related activities for the project
  • Help maintain the schedule for the software project team; participate in task allocation within the software team; ensure that software development activities comply with regulations and procedures; report status and communicate issues clearly
  • Develop detailed requirements, functional specifications, and design documents; implement well-documented, testable, high-quality code
  • Contribute to software process definition, take ownership of specific areas, and lead the team in adoption of all processes
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and third party software products
Qualifications/Requirements:

  • BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or high school diploma/GED with significant relevant professional experience)
  • 5 years’ experience with C#, .NET, C++, Java, or object oriented programming, in general
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and experience delivering both desktop- and web-based commercial software products
