Role Summary/Purpose: | Healthcare IT, Enterprise Imaging Solutions (EIS) leadership has secured investment to develop and improve vendor neutral archive solution. This role requires a strategic understanding of the patient / customer needs, product technology and intellectual property of GE Healthcare as well as our competitors. The Principal Architect relies upon Senior Staff Architect to innovate, differentiate, and create runways for engineering teams. |
Essential Responsibilities: | - Drive elements of the multi-generational product/technology plan as well as product specific development plans for Radiology Imaging IT; specifically the vendor neutral archive solution.
- Multi-generation technology planning and rationalization experience with an excellent understanding of product system architecture(s), platforms and core technologies; specifically interoperability standards (IHE, DICOM) and storage technologies.
- Influencing strategic development of global product roadmaps with a focus on technical differentiation that addresses key customer needs; specifically focused on improving product’s non-functional (or cross functional) aspects.
- Coaching and mentoring potential architects and senior engineers in order to develop the community in process, career growth and technical excellence.
Quality Specific Goals: - Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position.
- Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines.
- Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required.
- Drive compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Outputs/Program deliverables.
- Champion continuous improvement activities by initiating process and product quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications/Requirements: | - Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
- Overall 15 years progressive experience as an engineer.
- Experience in Healthcare IT standards like DICOM, HL7 and IHE profiles.
- Proven architectural leadership on an enterprise-scale software product.
- Strong knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Software Design Patterns and .NET/C#/C++ coding principles.
- Excellent technical acumen to perform design reviews and code reviews.
- Proven experience in Agile environment - managing multiple scrum teams and driving execution and deliverables.
- Demonstrated experience driving technology and product planning processes with a focus on differentiation and financial return.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and drive product/platform direction utilizing internal and external resources on product/platform initiatives.
- Demonstrated strategic planner and thinker with experience in driving technical changes across a segment of products.
- Strong written and oral communication skills Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications: | |
Desired Characteristics: | - Masters or PhD Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 8 years technical project leadership experience preferably in the Healthcare Imaging domain.
- Experience with abstracting general principles, driving conceptual design and logical design, and translating into physical implementation.
- Demonstrated experience on global product releases throughout the entire NPI cycle.
