Role Summary/Purpose: | To develop, design and deliver effective service tools to reduce the complexity and volume of incidents and increase the support function ability to address incidents |
Essential Responsibilities: | - Design and develop service tools which can be utilised by the service investigation to reduce the time and complexity of current service actions and reduce incident volume - Define system objectives using problem analysis; establishing key service tools features and functionality - Design and develop user interface to the service tools by integrating with database architecture and across Windows and Linux platform within a networked environment - Establish expectations; defining key priorities and setting feature priorities through life cycle development - Enhance the productivity of the problem organisation and explore other opportunities to add value to the problem function - Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to incident reduction - Write technical procedures and documentation for the developed service application such as user guides, technical manuals, operation for said tools - Assist in the troubleshooting of service tools, addressing defects and establishing development road map and addressing changing user requirements - Provision of training of service tools to service engineers and ongoing usability - Contribute to service initiatives, activities to enhance the service experience - Weekly reporting of status to problem manager to discuss status and issues to be resolved |
Qualifications/Requirements: | - Degree in an IT related field or equivalent with some hands on development experience in Java - Technical experience with systems networking, databases, Web development, and user support. - Strong project management skills with effective results focus within an information systems environment. - A results oriented individual who thrives working in a fast paced environment. - Excellent analytical and communication skills including ability to provide clear and concise status to senior management - Inspire confidence and communicate with customers from different levels in a professional manner - Self-motivated and able to work autonomously - Ability to work effectively under pressure to tight deadline - Aptitude to define actions plans to execute resolution |
